Meet the Staff

Michael Pugh, DVM, MS provides bovine and caprine reproduction consultation and embryo services. Michael has honed his embryo transfer experience as embryo program manager for Genex / CRI in Shawano, WI, prior to earning his DVM at Iowa State University. He has extensive experience and knowledge with conventional and surgical embryo transfer procedures, ultrasonography, in-vitro fertilization, embryo manipulation and embryo sexing. Michael is the past American Embryo Transfer Association ( www.aeta.org ) President. This group is surmised of all the embryo transfer veterinarians, technicians and embryo transfer companies around the United States. Michael, his wife, Amber, and children Kellen, Kiefer and Kemree reside at Westwood. |

Thomas Huck received his Ag Business degree from Hawkeye Community College. He began working for Westwood in 2009 as a part time herdsman and his responsibilities include morning care for donor and recipient cows. More recently he has come on board full time as our Embryo Transfer Technician. He will assist Dr. Pugh in searching and freezing of donor cow embryos here at Westwood and on farm collections. Outside of Westwood he helps manage the family purebred beef operation. Thomas, his wife Stacy and two young sons, Warner and Emmett, live on a farm north of Waverly, IA. |

Ethan Wedeking serves as herdsman and groundskeeper for Westwood in Waverly. He is in charge of the overall care of client donor and recipient cows. Ethan is also responsible for maintenance of the facilities and directing our part time farm labor. On the side he owns and manages EW Cattle Company Inc., where he raises purebred and cross-bred Angus and Simmental cattle. Ethan graduated from Hawkeye Community College with an Animal Science degree in 2010. He resides on his farm near Plainfield, IA. |
